Tyra Kleen - A Collection of Drawings

Description

Tyra Kleen lived a life worthy of a novel. In the 1890s, she studied at the women's painting school in Karlsruhe, the art academy in Munich, and the Paris schools Académie Delécluse, Académie Colarossi, and Académie Julian. In the French capital, she held her first exhibition. Toward the end of the decade, she moved to Rome, and from there she traveled - to India, Ceylon, Java, and Bali. Alongside her artistic work, she worked as an illustrator and exhibited in Berlin, Milan, Rome, Paris, London, Vienna, and St. Petersburg. At Crafoord Auktioner Malmö, we encounter her as a draughtswoman. The works date from the first two decades of the 20th century. Portraits alternate with figure studies.
