A pair of turned oak candlesticks, with a brass top section with drip pan (21.5cms high), also with a single oak candlestick with brass top section (15.5cms high). (3) *Its very clear that your present Candlesticks are slightly developed versions from a series of Candlestick Wooden Base Designs which Gordon Russell originally drew in 1924. *The pair of taller dome shaped Candlestick bases are clearly slight modifications on his Design No 85, and the single squatter turned base is clearly a slight modification of Design No 87. *My thanks to the Gordon Russell Design Museum for their help on this lot. *These appear on an invoice from 1930, see copy of the invoice on the images. Condition: single candlestick, scratches and wear to the candleholder and drip pan from use, some wax inside from use Pair, candleholders a little dented and out of shape, some wax residue and scratches to the drip pans, wood - one generally fine, the other with some surface cracks in places, some black marks and small chip near the base.
