A monumental, expressionist fountain by the remembered Limburg sculptor Caius Spronken. This impressive work of art was created in 2000 as a Millennium monument for the Brusselsepoort shopping centre in Maastricht. It is the largest model in an exclusive, limited edition of just five pieces worldwide. A unique feature is the bronze work, which was cast at the time using braked Dutch guilder cents as a symbolic farewell to the guilder. The octagonal bronze column bears the appalling Master's mark and is richly decorated with a classical mascaron and figures finished in gold leaf, which refers to the . Technically, the fountain is of a high standard, featuring an internal stainless steel catch basin and copper pipework, meaning the system is electrically pre-wired and immediately ready for use.
