Salvi Harp Model Minerva, serial No. 5930   Manufacturer: Salvi Model: Minerva Series No: 5930 Year of construction: 1987 Size (WxHxD): 190x100x55 cm Weight: approx. 40kg   Description   The instrument is over 35 years old and is basically functional, but needs a lot of overhaul. Numerous traces of use on the wood would have to be removed, such as paint scrapers on the column, fine lacquer cracks, stains on the soundboard and visible paint abrasion on the left foot. The complete mechanism is to be rehabilitated. The pedals and the tuning mechanism should be repaired and readjusted. The estimated costs for a general overhaul amount to approximately 8.500,00 €. In addition, there is a high probability that the neck to which the mechanism is attached is warped.If this suspicion is confirmed by an evaluation, the neck would also have to be replaced.In this case, the estimated repair costs would increase to approximately 16,000.00 €.   The Salvi model Minerva No. 5930 consists essentially of maple (body and column) as well as a ceiling of red fir.   The processed wood species are not subject to the Washington Convention on the Protection of Species.   The instrument is located at the Cologne University of Music and Dance Cologne and can be picked up there barrier-free.
