(VG/VG) Recorded At ▪ Jacks Studio, Nykøbing Mors, Denmark Poul Sørensen: "Butterfly" The album "Butterfly" was a typical atypical 1967 product. In 1967, it was the rule to break rules. Everything was permitted; one could play traditional pop, blues, folk music, acid music, beat music •yes, even palm house music, as long as you called it camp. Butterfly lived up to the era's confusion in every way. The album sounds at first like a folk music albom, but here and there, drums, electric guitars, matchboxes, typewriters, and some backwards-runnering music sneak in. In short, everything was in perfect keeping with the times: total chaos. In his many efforts to be heard, Poul Sørensen sent a tape with 20 tracks to Jack Fritdthjof and his Beat Records in Nykøbing Mors. Jack offered Poul the opportunity to release the album "Butterfly," which was not only cool but enormously significant in 1967! The entire album was recorded in a weekend. Poul arrived late Friday evening with a car loaded with guitars, drums, typewriters, and whatever else he needed. The album was released in 100 copies, and Poul Sørensen himself carefully created a "Butterfly" from pressed flowers and pasted it onto the front of the cover. The family moved to Nykøbing Mors, where I got the idea to start the province's first and only record company. I had many aquaintances visiting, Jørgen Mylius and Gunner Now were among the curious. It resulted in more than 60 singles and 4 LPs...well-known names who had their first records made here included Gnags, Henning Strong, Vanguards, Bjørn and Okay, and many others.I myself recorded 4 singles. The studio was made with eggcartons as insulation. Initially, I had the studio at Glyndere's mouse factory, but later moved it to the bandoned technical school building in Nykøbing Mors.
