For the auction, a Pitney Bowes DM400c franking machine is owned by the Karlsruhe Government Bureau. The device is from December 2017 and has been in frequent service until recently. It is functional and in an age-related condition without special value-influencing properties and wear marks that would not be expected with a device of this age. Examples of value-reducing properties:   Smaller black scratches and grinding marks on the grey outer shell. The grey outer shell is partially removed and shows slight approaches of yellowing in some places. After removal of the stickers, adhesive residues will be present. These are not yet recognisable due to the presence of the stickers at the time the photos were taken. The rubber lining is missing on one of the rolls in the letter drawer. It is not known whether this is a deficiency or normal. The key resistors when pressing are due to the many usage correspondingly weaker than with new devices.    The next VDE exam is due in January 2027.   The technical characteristics of the device can be seen in the relevant internet sources and are not mentioned here.    The scope of the auction shall include the device, operating instructions and other information brochures of the manufacturer in a holder. The scope of the auction is shown in full on the pictures (carton and picture in the background are not included in the scope of delivery).    A CE marking could not be found on the device, but the manufacturer Pitney Bowes confirms the presence in the user manual available online.   Visits are possible. It is located on the ground floor in the service building Kapellenstraße 17, 76131 Karlsruhe. There are few steps to walk at the entrance and few normally large doors to walk through. Damage to inventory and buildings resulting from the removal must be replaced by the auction winner.   The payment destination is ten days, after which the device must be picked up within 14 further days.
