Early, bulbous vase with short neck designed by Patrick Nordström. Executed at Royal Copenhagen, Denmark in the period 1912-14. Made of hand-thrown stoneware glazed in an unusually vivid oxblood glaze with a light shade on the shoulder. Neck decorated with horizontal grooves. Signed with monogram on the base. Marked with Royal Copenhagen's blue waves, 'S' for stoneware and number '2524'. Height: 12.5 cm. Diameter: 10.5 cm. Note: The S-mark was used on the first few thousand pieces of early unique stoneware produced from Patrick Nordström's employment in 1912 until 1914, when the factory transitioned to other numbers and systems for marking stoneware.
