Description

Decorated with nine bands of vertical double incised lines to the body, with raised bands around the neck and foot. With traces of original red and white pigment noticeable around the neck. 37cm wide x 33cm tall. Ref: almost identical examples are illustrated and described in the Southeast Asian Ceramic Society book 'Spirit of Han', described as Qin or early Western Han. Condition: 2.5cm chip to the rim, with smaller chips. Shallow 2.5cm chip at the foot, with smaller chips. Category: Asiatica/Ceramics & Porcelain Estimate: 300-500 GBP
