This work is a characteristic example of the creative power of the painter Leandro Bassano and his workshop. Several animals, horses, donkeys, dogs, sheep and a rooster gather at a watering trough in a hilly landscape. The clay and wooden troughs are filled from jugs by attendants, dressed in oriental garb, so that the animals can refresh themselves.
