Gourd-shaped kashiki tray* made by the renowned lacquerware company Heian Zohiko in Kyoto, Japan in the 1960-1980s. Made of wood lacquered with black urushi lacquer. Decorated with hand-painted, sweeping lines and small dots in gold and red. Tray marked with seal on the reverse. Original box included. Length: 22.5 cm. Width: 24.5 cm. *Small tray intended for serving sweets and confectionery in connection with the Japanese tea ceremony. In Japanese, this type of tray is called "hyotan-bon".
