Untitled poem of a total of 16 verses, twice 4 and twice 3 verses per page, monogrammed and dated on the first and last pages "G. S." "5 Nov. 1821" or "12 Nov." According to a pencil note by another hand, the polemic verses are directed to Wilhelm Waiblinger (1804-1830). "That you believe in the lust of your senses, and in the gifts of jokes, / And imagination, in a foreign form of clothing, / to be able to spare the mind, / and spirit, Bethörter! think already to have: - My mockery will indeed not take hold of this, / It will take Me if a entrusted Pfand / Verschließt wird in Übermuth und Tand, / And if a young horse wants to trabten to death ..." - Strong criticism of the behavior and way of life of the "young savage" (whose supporters were Schwab), who died as a gifted writer at the age of 25 in Rome. - II.
