Frederik V celebrated as the King of Denmark and Norway. Unsigned. Oil on canvas. 85 x 57. Empire frame. The two women who carry the two royal crowns symbolize specifically Denmark and Norway. The composition can be traced back to the German-born Painter Marcus Tuscher, who painted a similar scene with Christian VI. That one was lost in the fire of Christiansborg in 1795. The National History Museum at Frederiksborg owns a painting of the same composition, that one with more details, especially in the architectural background.
