Unfamiliar artist. A couple of portraits of Christian Rudolff Ebeling (1730-1809), organist and clerk in Ulkebøl on Als, and Frederikke Sophie Louise Eveling, born Hartwig (1731-1818). Oil on canvas. Unsign. The end of the 1700s. 41 x 32 (52 x 41) cm.
With light surface dirt and scattered retouchings, especially on women's portrait.
Christian Rudolph Ebeling was a lackey at Augustenborg Palace under Duke Frederik Christian Æ. (1754-1794), where he is mentioned as such 1761 and 1784. Around 1785 he was associated with Ulkebøl Sogn as a clerk and also served as an organist at Augustenborg. ▪ Showroom: DK, Roskilde
