Every now and then it shines almost because it was materialized by paint paint. Thus she exerts a fascinating attraction on the viewer. The eye quickly finds forms to which it can attach itself, provide insight and insight. Memories of acquaintances are waking up. Objects and figures appear and disappear Again. It is precisely these irritations that invite you to re-see, encourage, to stay with the pictures and give in to curiosity, to want to see behind them.   The starting point for Eßer's visual material, which he encounters in his everyday life: in the picture books and fibulae of his son, in science fiction films or Comics, in scientific literature, in encyclopaedia or illustrated. Out of the outlines and structures he finds in the images seen there, Eßer creates forms with which he now "plays". Through various processes, including on the computer, they are changed, that is to say, chanted or shortened, distorted or even left in their original form, until they get a partly stencil-like figure that the artist wants for his paintings.   These shapes are then transferred to the image carrier (hard fibre plate, nettle). As in everyday life a plethora of pictures pours into us, so it leaves also Eßer Not with one, but it overlaps up to 30 such image layers. The acrylic paints are often applied so thinly that the underlying Layers remain visible, so they are not lost and sometimes give the works a floating character. The voltage between relative firm formal boundaries and an almost amorphous formlessness are probably the special attraction of the works.
