16th of 17th century, the square shaped tile painted with a floral design in red, green and cobalt blue on a white ground. With a label to the reverse, 'Purchased Christies South Kensington, 16/4/2010, catalogued as 'Surahi Iznik tile, circa 1575-1585', with splashes of colour to the back of the tile and mounted in a much later wooden frame. Tile approx 24cms square. Condition: small chips to the corners and edges of the tile in places, possibly a small hairline crack in the bottom right corner which runs in a curve, general crazing all over.
