One of 50 numbered copies of the special edition on Strathmore and in the master cover (total edition: 600). The unique edition of the subscription was in line with the author's wish, "who wanted to offer his love story only to a chosen and serious circle of interested parties" (cf. H.-G.). Pretitle with newer exlibris stamp, title with further deleted stamp (the paper there brightened). A well-preserved specimen from the library of Empress Hermine (1887-1947), the second wife of Emperor Wilhelm II in his Dutch exile. With three provenance features: Green etched exlibris on the inside mirror with the crowned letter "H". With a representation of Schloss Greiz in Thuringia, home of the Princely House of Reuß older line, where Hermine was born in 1887 as Princess Reuß zu Greiz. Furthermore, with two blind-embossed coat of arms shields of the Empress on the title recto et verso, one in yellow-red and one in black-and-white.
