One of the most beautiful Berlin impressions from the late twenties with scenes from the turbulent street life, the cafés and bars and from the Tiergarten. The etchings remind in their artistic conception of Rudolf Großmann and Rudolf Schlichter, some characters of a somewhat tamed George Grosz. The illustrations integrated in the text with carefully observed details, e.g. the stand "Obstweinverkauf Werder", Berliner Männer-Bedürfnisanstalten in Rundform, avid servicemen and police officers, animator drinking garden visitors etc. In addition, a handwritten color etching called "planche libre en plus" shows nude bathing at Wannsee (or at Havel?). The whole work is an enchanting homage to the Berlin of the (even more) twenties, just before the Rolladen fell.
