Of rectangular form with a hinged lid with push button release. The body of woven yellow and white gold, each with textured decoration. The interior with a removable gold frame compartment, divided by a hinged glazed lid to a powder compartment, also fitted with a gold mounted comb. The lid section fitted with a mirror. Diamond set push button release and thumbpiece of three courses, totally forty-two brilliant cut diamonds approximately 145 carats. Marked throughout, maker’s mark RS with an Egyptian cross in between (ankh) (reg. 8th March). Housed in original cloth carry case. From 1946 he was in partnership with Maxime Bois, and another mark of SB with an ankh inbetween was registered on the 18th November 1968, at 4 bis Rue St Sauveur. Soubrenie and Bois took over the workshop of Helluin-Mattlinger when they closed in 1959. They supplied powder cases, liptick cases and lighters to Lacloche and Boucheron. They ceased operations on the 25th December 1995.
