Artist: Andreas Bach Title: Saddled horse Technique: Oil Painting Signature: Reverse estate stamp Frame dimensions in cm approx.: 65 x 49 Biography Andreas Bach (1886 Nürnberg - 1963): Andreas Bach was a Nuremberg Impressionist and student of Heinrich von Zugel. He completed an apprenticeship as a lithograph. From 1901 to 1907 he attended evening courses at the Nuremberg School of Arts and Crafts with Heinrich Heim. From 1909 to 1914 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Angelo Jank and Heinrich von Zügel. From 1918 he worked as a freelance painter in Nuremberg. He was a founding member of the artists' group Die Hütte. His works were exhibited in Dresden, Leipzig, Chemnitz, Fürth, Erlangen, Bamberg, Coburg, Würzburg, Heidelberg, Nuremberg, Budapest 1929 and Copenhagen 1930. In 1961 a large special exhibition of his works took place at the Fränkische Galerie Nürnberg. Andreas Bach was an honorary member of the Gesellschaft der Reinselfreunde in Würth am Rhein. Many of his paintings are owned by the city of Nuremberg. He published publications in Velhagen and Klasing's monthly magazines, Das Bild (1935), La Revue Moderne (1929) as well as in Heinrich von Zügel and the Wörther Malerschule by Dr. W. Steigelmann.
