Serial No: 056 (stamped into lower camera chassis) Body: G - constructed with teak, dovetailed joints, reinforced brass fixtures, evidence of wood having been treated/refinished at some stage, The initals 'F.V' scratched in below control panel. Motor: running Lens: Carl Zeiss Jena 5cm f/2.7 Tessar (133067) Optics: F/G Notes: This is Williamson's top-of-the-line, most sophisticated 35mm hand cranked cine camera featuring a special viewfinder prism system on one side to allow the director or cameraman to check "through the lens" viewing of the image frame, all while the cameraman is cranking the camera and using the "non-through the lens" viewing system on the other side. The camera contained wooden 35mm film magazine boxes (one magazine included with the camera). James Williamson started producing films in 1897, and in 1910 he began to concentrate on the manufacture of film equipment. Patents 21787/08, 6340/20, 6341/20 engraved onto front of camera, and Patent 21787/08 engraved onto the film advance claw internall.(Quantity:1)
