Description
This magnificent Elizabethan table is in remarkable original condition, it has a thick top and leaves extending when open to 115” and 61” when closed. It stands on four extremely large gadrooned bulbous legs united by stretchers. The friezes are carved with ribbed detail centred by foliate tablets.
A paper label to the underside of the top describes, by direction of E.S. Wade Esq., Cranbourne Hall, Windsor Forest / dining room.
Provenance Private Yorkshire collection. Sold in Christies Masters and Makers, December 2014 for £22,500
