Description
The first an Octagonal Stepped-Base Candlestick, English or French, early 18th century (Queen Anne / Louis XIV period) with robust baluster stem with multi-sided faceting, ending in a wide, heavy octagonal stepped base. The second candlestick English, circa 1720–1750 George I / George II period with a classical vertically aligned knopped stem sitting on a sharp square base with standard or subtly cut corners. The third tripod claw-and-ball base candlestick, Continental European, likely Flemish, Dutch, or German, mid-to-late 18th century with a slender turned column transitioning into a dramatically splayed tripod base resting on stylized claw-and-ball feet. The fourth a Trifid open-footed candlestick Spanish or Italian, 17th to 18th century with an elegant ring-turned shaft supported by an open, high-arched trifid base terminating in stylized scrolled or cloven feet, the largest measures 18cm high.
Condition: General marks and wear, tarnishing.
