Created by Goya between 1816 and 1824, the renowned print series "Los Proverbios" originally contained 22 plates, four of which were separated and remained missing/unpublished during the initial posthumous releases. These four supplementary plates (Delteil 220–223; Harris 266–269) were later found in the collection of the Spanish painter Eugenio Lucas Velázquez (1817-1870) and were first published in 1877 in the French art magazine "L'Art". The original four copperplates were acquired by Galerie Sagot - Le Garrec in 1907, after which they also published impressions from the plates. Condition: With full margins, in good condition.
