Description
Color lithograph printed on 4 sheets of cream wove paper, 1974, signed and numbered Dalí 222/250 in pencil. Printed by Grapholith, Paris. Published by Jacques Carpentier, Paris.
The 4 sheets overall 125.0x135.5 cm.
Michler/Löpsinger 1446; Field 74-10 Q.
This four sheet segmented colour lithograph recalls the design of a Medieval stained glass window, with compartmentalized, luminous color panels. The composition depicts a surreal, regal creature merging insect and mammalian anatomy. It incorporates classic Dalinian motifs, including a melting clock-face element reminiscent of his iconic soft watches, famously represented in the artist's 1931 Surrealist oil painting "The Persistence of Memory" now in The Museum of Modern Art, New York.
Condition: Some pale toning, otherwise overall in good condition, with full margins on each of the sheets. Please contact fredrik.fellbom@stockholmsauktionsverk.com for more information.
