Pinto period. Of lobed inverted baluster form with a moulded rim, raised upon three legs with hoof feet and shaped junctions. The pull off lobed lid surmounted by a fruit form with leafy calyx finial. Marked with maker’s mark AP with a bird above in a shaped punch (Farrugia XII i 35), standard mark MA with Maltese cross above crowned (Farrugia XI I 21 c), and Pietro Paolo Troisi mint mark (Farrugia p.228, fig 2), these all in a row to the bezel of the lid, and individually to each foot.
