Round, richly decorated silver case without counterpart, 2 eyelets for fixing the chain, approx. Ø50mm, approx 100g, very solid housing quality, inner case folds out, signed Gustav Sandoz Horlogere de la Marine Paris, special lift/position over hinged handles as an experimental variant to the key elevator and transition variant before the crown elevator, cylinder inhibition, signed Enamel dial, metal pointer, outstanding original condition, functional, rare. ==References====External links== He was born in Paris in 1836. He worked in the workshops of Lépine (1853 taken over by Boulay), Paul Garnier and Breguet before starting his own business at Rue de la Monnaie. From 1861, his workshop was located in the Sainte-Anne Passage. The Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers commissioned Sandoz to maintain their watches and instruments. This position contributed significantly to his reputation. In 1865 Sandoz moved to the prestigious Palais Royal 147-148, very close to the companies Boucheron and later also Lalique. He also represented the company of Jules-Frédéric Jürgensen. In 1882, he won a second prize with one of his chronometers at the Geneva Observatory. A year later he received a gold medal in Amsterdam.
