Terje Uhrn – «Gallion II» from 2001 – litography 29/30 Great and distinctive lithography of the Norwegian contemporary artist Terje Uhrn. The work is entitled «Gallion II» and carried out in 2001. The motif consists of a rust red middle surface surrounded by dark geometrical sections. Central hovers a small figure that can be perceived as a gallion figure, a flying figure, or a mechanical being. The composition creates an exciting sense of depth, movement and mystery. Terje Uhrn, born in Oslo in 1951, has been trained at the State's crafts and art industry school and the State Academy of Fine Arts. He was a member of the experimental artist group Lamborda in the 1980s and is known for an abstract and geometrical form language with muted earth colours and strong space effect.
