Description
Eva Laila Hilsen – “Residual” (2002) – Three Section/Litography E.A. Signed graphic work by the well-known Norwegian graphic artist Eva Laila Hilsen. It is performed in an unusual combination of three sections and lithography. The inscription E.A. means épreuve d’artists – the artist’s own test pressure outside the ordinary numbered edition. ‘Related’ is performed in an unusual combination of three sections and lithography. The motif consists of architectural and geometrical forms in blue, black, ocher yellow and red. The red house form is central and can be interpreted as a symbol of man, belonging, communication and both inner and outer spaces. The work was taken from the "One Room - A House" folder from 2002. The folder consists of graphic works inspired by texts from Jon Fosse's novel 'Nausset'. Eva Laila Hilsen (born 1945 at Fagernes) has been trained at the State's crafts and art industry school and the State Academy of Fine Arts. She is particularly known as graphics and drawing, and has had a comprehensive exhibition activity in Norway and internationally.
