Thomas (Bert) A collection of 24 cartoons, the majority depicting subjects from the First World War, ink on card or board, white highlights, signed, captions and measurements, also including: Lord Grey of Fallodon, gouache design, (Grey was a British statesman and Liberal Party politician who was the main force behind British foreign policy in the era of the First World War), published as a supplement to The World magazine, with an example of the printed cartoon (24)***Thomas is best known for "'Arf a Mo', Kaiser!", an iconic image of a grinning Cockney Tommy lighting a pipe, which he drew, supposedly in ten minutes, during the early months of the First World War.
