Her own hand-held poetry by the talented painter Lou Albert-Lasard (also known as "Lulu" or "Loulou Lazard"), who moved in the Munich artists' circles of the "Blue Rider" around Alexej von Jawlensky, Marianne von Werefkin, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Franz Marc before she went to Paris, where she became the mistress of Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926). The emotional-intensive and creative-tormical love affair began in September 1914 in Paris, overshadowed by the First World War that broke out in June, which found its way into Albert-Lasard's poems: "War. The trains do not run, the land becomes wide / and invincible like the firmament. / A man's boy on an eternal spot / stands there staring at himself and clapping with horror [...]. The same stars smile - war?" It is followed by other poems from 1910-1913 such as "Dream" ("Summer 1913"), "Der Regen" ("Winter 1912"), "Sacré Coeur" ("Paris hiver 1912").
