When I spoke the other day with Mr. Hesse and Mrs. Gundert von Calw, I was pleased to mention the 'Adler', in which I lived last April for a few days. I was then on my journey to Montagnola and spent some hour drawing at my beautiful windows on the Bischofsstraße or roaming around the town with my drawing book. It was because I was never to be seen in the inn ... And how would I have liked to hear a Calwer by Hermann Hesse speak! But we will be able to make up for this ...". - On the address page of the map Böhmer has drawn a horseman standing in front of a lake with a very fine stroke of feathers, surrounded by very tall, slender, deciduous trees, in the background a mountain landscape, in heaven migratory birds. Among them in equally fine writing: "As Greetings by Gunter Böhmer". - On the text page of the map, the upper third is taken from the print of a pen drawing by Hermann Hesse in 1931, which probably shows his house in Montagnola. In this way the unusual case is that a postcard by Hermann Hesse and Gunter Böhmer is illustrated, even if Hesse's drawing is only a print. - Holed.
