These are obviously life-loving friends of the owner, who was probably not himself a "child of sadness", which can be concluded from the themes of the texts and above all from the attractive illustrations. 5 all-sided painted leaves show joyful company: 5 men and 2 women sit together with pleasure in wine; Man and woman play billiards; 4 men sit in the card game, while a fifth sleeps on the sofa; 3 men sit in the card game, while under it in the cellar filled with barrels two more men taste wine; 4 men at the pool game, while down on the street a man with 3 women discussed. On another sheet, one man is shaved, while another one with a candle provides the necessary lighting. Also of particular interest are 3 overall views of cities from the bird's eye view: a view of Görlitz is marked accordingly. One of the other two leaves shows the completely destroyed city of Zittau, after it had been shot on fire by Austrian artillery in 1757. Whether the closely opposite, with red ink very fine and carefully executed city view shows Zittau before the big fire, was not to be clarified for us. - The cover decorated on both lids and also on the back with a king's crown reminds of a remboitage. Well-preserved masterbook from the time of the 7-year war with almost completely peaceful, attractive pictures.
