Family book of Friederike Nauwerck from Eisleben. Approximately 74 pages, 115 of which are described or illustrated. With 11 watercolors and gouaches, 1 pencil drawing and 4 silk embroidery. Quer-8vo. Turquoise silk ribbon d.C. (back and adjacent parts of the lids flaked; 1 corner) with goldgepr. Borders and corner fleurons on both covers, back sign "Memorial of my friend" [!] and gold cut. With defective cardboard slipper from 1799-1842. Richly filled masterbook of a young lady, called "Fritzchen", which was kept over a period of more than 40 years. Most of the contributions of relatives and friends in and around Eisleben, including several noble families, e.g. v. Wangenheim. In some cases frequented cities and places of the surrounding area were Dresden, Leipzig, Querfurt, Hoym and Schloß Allstädt as well as 1802-1803 Magdeburg and Gießen. In 1804 "Göthe" is quoted. The impressive watercolors, some of which have been painted, show, among other things, a small view of Dresden (1801), a harbour, a river landscape with ruin and church, monuments of friendship and flower arrangements (one with caterpillar and butterfly). Also attractive are the artistically designed embroidery; one of them (probably in 1799) shows an image of a river landscape with village and trees. - The owner of the master book in many cases noted at the lower margin when the contributor died. - Moderate signs of wear.
