"Travel report from Longji to Jaunde South Kamerun" and "Report on my first recruitment trip." Interesting, very vivid and vividly described marches of the unknown author accompanied by native carriers and other servants, mainly with the aim of recruiting workers. The first part begins: "Again I stand in front of a large company. Tomorrow it should go into the bush about 800 km are to be taken on foot, involuntarily pouring through me a quiet shiver and fearing doubt whether I have grown to the colosal [!] march performance. But with a thousand voices it calls me out into the deep unexplored jungle to experience all the wonders of it itself, which I have only known from books until now ...". He also describes the treatment of such persons observed by him: "After noon, some black soldiers with 50 black workers passed through the village where I lived. The workers were all tied together with a single cord from neck to neck. Unfortunately, one must resort to such means and often capture people with violence, as otherwise someone would not come to work so quickly. This month against 2000 carriers with loads have marched to the new area. I believe of these 2000 are directly captured in 1900."
