Rare print of the gynecological university writing, with which the physician and botanist Johann Erdwin Christoph Ebermaier (1769-1825) from Melle received his doctorate in 1797 at the University of Göttingen under Johann Friedrich Gmelin as Dr. med. Ebermaier then worked as a practical physician in Rheda and Osnabrück and published numerous writings. "Ebermaier had acquired a very comprehensive education which enabled him to be patient in various fields of medicine; he always maintained a special interest in the pharmacy. In addition to some of the writings dealing with this subject, he has published teaching and manuals on births, receptir art and surgery, which were very popular in his time and form parts of the general medical encyclopedia published by him in conjunction with Consbruch" (ADB V, 578).
