Fully marked to the interior and part-marked to lid. Detailing about a “John Addison who was church warden of Offham in 1683 and other years, and who died in 1694. He was either born in 1616, son of John and Dorothy Addison, who died in 1666 (…) or he was born in 1614, son of Robert and Margaret Addison, son of William and Margaret Addison baptised at Offham 12 September 1585. (…) The oval box in (…) best wishes N.F. R[unclear].” John Addison died 16th May 1694 is buried in the churchyard of St Michael Churchyard, Offham, Tonbridge and Malling Borough, Kent, England. Reading “Here / lieth the body / of JOHN ADDISON / who departed this life 16 / of May 1694 / Aged 79 years / Left issue 2 sons / JOHN & WILLIAM / Here lieth the body JOHN / ADDISON jnr who departed / this life May 8th 1721 / 83 Years”. Combined with the grave of his wife “Here lieth the body / MARGARIT / wife of JOHN / ADDISON who / departed this / life December / 4. 1703 Aged/ 79 years”. Samuel Dell was apprenticed to Daniel Rutty for eight years from 24 May 1671, after Rutty’s death Dell was turned over to plateworker William Wakefield again dying before completing his freedom. He appears to have kept the business going with the widowed Frances Wakefield. He became free 16th August 1679, and his service was testified by Alexander Roode.
