The square base with embossed plinth of roses and swags to a figure of Mercury after Giambologna, standing upon the face of a wind god, probably Zephyr, holding a caduceus in on hand and in the other supporting an oil well of rounded circular form with chased female masks adjoined by a band of chased foliate scrolls, all surmounted by a figure of a regardant peacock, four chain attachments suspended from oil well.
