An oval scalloped and lobed bowl with two pouring lips, birfurcated junction to handle, turned fruitwood handle. Engraved underneath bowl with a 19th century crest of in front of a pole arm upon a mount a talbot sejant. Fully marked to bowl interior. Length - 35.5 cm / 14 inchesNotes:Philip Garden or Phillips Garden, was apprenticed to Garwen Nash on the 4th February 1730, he became free on the 3rd October 1738 and registered his first mark 12th June 1738. Working at Gutter lane and at Golden Lion, North Side St Paul’s Churchyard. Relatively little work by Garden survives given that his Rococo outputs are of admirable quality and craftsmanship.
