Description

Stepped square base with gadrooned edge, rising to a fluted column with Corinthian capital. Fitted with a cut clear glass oil reserve in strawberry diamond pattern, adjustable double wick fittings, clean glass chimney and acid etched globular shade with arabesques. Engraved to side with presentation inscription reading “Capt. A. C. Fergusson. R.A. from the Officers 21st Kohat M.B. 15th June 1907”. Filled. Fully marked and stamped to the side. Height to top fixed fittings – 55.5 cm / 21.8 inchesNotes:The 21st Kohat Mountain Battery (Frontier Force) was an artillery unit of the British Indian Army. It was raised in 1851 as the No. 2 Horse or Punjab Light Field Battery, Punjab Irregular Force. It became the 21st Kohat Mountain Battery (Frontier Force) in 1903.
