Of oval cylindrical form, a moulded C scroll handle leading to a hinged domed lid surmounted by a ball finial, raised by a scalloped thumpiece. Engraved decoration of foliate festoons adjoining a vacant shield shape cartouche to each side. Fitted with the original removable clear glass liner. Marked underneath, no date letter, part-marks to lid. Together with a fiddle pattern salt spoon, Newcastle circa 1815 by John Robertson II and John Walton.
