The cinquefoil lobed base (1742) raised on four double C scroll shell feet, with supporting ring superstructure of five rings and two lid rings, the central detachable carrying handle with shaped scrolls above a baluster knop (no wing nut). The front with a cast and applied C scroll asymmetrical cartouche. Fitted with a graduated set of three casters (1744), each of baluster form, each with a removable lid with scrolls, each surmounted by a bell form finial. Together with a pair of silver mounted oil and vinegar bottles, facet cut clear glass, the pull off lids with domed tops surmounted by bell form finials. The frame cartouche engraved with a contemporaneous coat of arms, the caster and bottle tops engraved with a crest of a popinjay each surmounting an Earl’s coronet. The frame engraved underneath with initials S over C*A in Roman script. The stand with engraved scratch weight 49=0, also rudimentary scratch weights 51’ 7 and 47 ’ 9. Each fully marked underneath, maker’s mark and lion passant to caster lid bezels, lion passant to both handle stem and handle, bottle lids unmarked.
