Length - 7 cm / 2.75 inches Weight – 17 grams / 0.55 oztNotes:Recorded by Grimwade seen on a sugar caster of 1714, the mark is most similar to Cowsey’s mark registered 9th August 1701 (Grimwade 375). Cowsey was apprenticed to Nathaniel Lock on the 6th March 1694, free 1st September 1701. Two registered two marks initially, and then a sterling mark 11 Nov 1720, presumed dead by 1728. This unregistered mark is tentatively attributed to him based on similarity of punch and the surviving articles covering the dates we now he was alive and presumably active, and where his master’s training would have given him the training across a range of vessels.
