Description
Approx. 48 x 27mm, 18K gold, blue enamel and diamonds set in silver, top with foldable flap closure, secret opening button for the lid, hidden in one of the chain eyelets, numbered No. 1, foldable on both sides, heart-shaped cylinder movement with key winding, signed under the dial, No. 9608, screw-on enamel dial, golden hands, original Gold/Emaillechatelaine with key and pedestal with monogram CJ, manageable, partial restorations in the enamel. The watch is a museum rarity and probably a unique. The number one also indicates this. We don't know any other bottle of Patek Philippe. The housing maker is probably also from Geneva. The log extract confirms the heart-shaped work, made in 1854. For many enamel shaped watches, factory manufacturers and housing manufacturers were different companies. Most of the works were French or from Vienna, extremely rare also from Geneva as the lucrative housing makers. According to our research, about 10 Patek Philippe formal clocks are known with the heart-shaped works, all from the 1850s, but none of them was a bottle.
