Provenance private collection, France More information Yolanta Nitka-Nikt studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, she obtained her diploma in 1988 in the studio of Professor Józef Nołas. From the beginning, she was interested in observing everyday objects and situations. Her paintings often come from simple forms: flowers in pots, clothes, dead nature. In time there appeared self-portraits and works referring to artists whom he admires, as well as collages with elements of folk art, e.g. kurpie cutouts. In the work of Nitka-Nobody is important the clarity of the form and the combination of colors. Color stains consist of compositions that can be observed both in the context of the presentation and the texture and rhythm of the colours themselves. The artist introduces simplifications, repeats shapes, compiles them in new configurations, without complying with current trends. Her paintings are rather flat, unmodeled with light, and each detail was treated so that it co-created the overall structure of the composition. Nitka-Nobody is also interested in literature and music, and short texts placed on images are a commentary on colorful decisions or forms. In the work with the material, the artist combines various techniques and media, oil painting, drawing, collage, looking for the most suitable layout for them. In this way, each image has its own logic, resulting from observation, repetition of forms and relationships between color and shape. Her work combines simplicity and consistency in action, showing that interesting effects can be achieved by attentively looking at the world and systematic, although flexible running of forms on canvas.
