Same category, different country — read with care
Median winning bid in the same category across countries (groups with at least 200 results). Differences mainly reflect what the covered houses sell — e.g. a leasing house selling nearly new cars versus a house selling trailers and parts — not what the same item costs.
† More than 50% of the results come from a single house: the figure describes that house’s mix and is not representative of the country.

Methodology
- A result is a lot that ended during the quarter with at least one bid and a positive price. A price on a lot with no bids is the starting price and is never counted.
- Only verified final bids: LotSeekr last checked the price within 10 minutes of the close. 54,730 results checked earlier than that were left out.
- Amounts are in euros, converted at the exchange rate of the last price check. Buyer’s premium and VAT are not included.
- Outliers: a bid above 50× the 99th percentile of its category is treated as a data error (source mistakes, prank bids) and excluded — 8 this quarter.
- Bid rate is the share of the quarter’s ended lots that received at least one bid; sealed tenders, which never show bids, are excluded from it. Groups with fewer than 200 results are not shown.
- Country figures depend on which auction houses are covered. In Austria nearly all results come from one platform selling many low-value single items, which pulls its medians down.
- De-duplicated: several platforms list the same lot on more than one site (Troostwijk, Vavato and Surplex; Dam Online and Industrial Auctions). A lot with the same id and closing minute is counted once — 132,938 duplicate listings removed.
- These are winning bids, not confirmed sales: where a house uses reserve prices, some lots end unsold when the reserve is not met, and LotSeekr cannot see that.
- This is a summary of one quarter, not a price index: there is no fixed basket of goods and the houses we cover change over time, so editions are not directly comparable.
- The verified-bid rule under-represents houses whose final prices are checked less often: Auktionshuset Sonderjylland (5%), Clicpublic (21%), Livebid (32%), Online Auctions BE (33%), PS Auction (41%), PKO Leasing (46%), British Medical Auctions (70%), Poleasingowe.pl (72%) (share of their results that could be verified).
