The seller offers for sale this 1962 Moto Morini Corsaro, powered by a 124cc single-cylinder engine. Finished in its distinctive brushed-aluminium livery with the winged Moto Morini badge on the tank, this Corsaro presents with 999 km on the odometer. According to the seller, the motorcycle was restored two years ago, with work including a conversion to 12V electronic ignition, the fitting of a new carburettor, and a powder-coated frame and fuel tank. The bike retains its period details, including the chromed fenders and wire-spoked wheels typical of the model. The seller notes that the speedometer drive and the steering lock are not currently functioning, and prospective buyers should factor this into their inspection.
The Corsaro (Italian for “pirate”) was introduced by Moto Morini in 1958 as a sporting 125cc companion to the firm’s larger overhead-camshaft roadsters, and it went on to become one of the longest-lived and most popular models in the marque’s history. Built around a robust overhead-valve single-cylinder engine with a five-speed gearbox and a light double-cradle tubular frame, the Corsaro was prized for its blend of performance, reliability and handling at a time when small-capacity motorcycles were the backbone of Italian daily transport. Moto Morini itself, founded in Bologna in 1937 by Alfonso Morini, built its reputation on successful overhead-camshaft racing singles that came within two points of the 1963 250cc World Championship, and that competition pedigree filtered down into road models like the Corsaro. Today, well-preserved examples of the Corsaro are sought after by collectors of classic Italian lightweights for their elegant, uncomplicated engineering and their place in Moto Morini’s post-war history.
