Description
A Military General Service Medal with Nivelle and Nive clasps named to F. Wyse Ensn, 47th Foot. Francis Wyse is recorded as an Ensign with the 47th Foot from 22nd October 1813. The roll for the 62nd has Wyse Francis Ensign crossed out, followed by Wyse Francis 'serving as Volunteer off. ... 47th Foot'. The Roll for the 47th has Wyse, Francis, Ensign crossed out and ' ... in 62nd Foot'. Which suggests he was attached for the 62nd for the relevant period of time with the incorrect unit to the medal.
