Austrian Empire Francis I, 1792-1835. Ducat 1810 A, Vienna. Off metal strike on an octagonal "Klippe". Laureate head left / Crowned double-headed eagle. 8,81g. Unpublished Off metal strike. Cf. Fr. 464 (for the standard strike); Cf. Herinek 103 (same). Of exceptional rarity. Probably unique. Little punch at 12 o’clock. Fleur de coin. This off-metal strike is a very interesting object for any collector of rare and unusual coins. The dies used to produce gold ducats were used to strike this “klippe” medallion.
