Finished in turquoise with a cream and turquoise interior, this open-bodied Jolly carries a striped canopy on slim chrome supports and white-wall tyres, and has been restored by the seller’s own team. The Jolly was created in the late 1950s by the Turin coachbuilder Ghia, which converted the small Fiat 500 into an open beach car for the yachts and resorts of the Italian and French Riviera. It was ordered by wealthy clients as a stylish runabout and tender, usually with wicker seats, a fringed canopy and no doors, and it became one of the most recognisable icons of the dolce vita era. Today the Jolly is one of the most sought after versions of the Fiat 500, and it is rarely seen in this form outside classic car events. This example has a turquoise body with white-wall tyres and chrome bumpers, and a green and white striped canopy over the open cabin. The interior has cream and turquoise vinyl bucket seats and a bench at the rear, cream carpets, a cream steering wheel and a turquoise dashboard with a retro-style radio. A rope runs across the door openings in place of doors. The seller documents the work with photos of the cleaned and painted engine and gearbox, the brake components, the underbody and the fuel tank, which sits under the front lid. The engine bay at the rear is shown with its tidy installation. Condition of the bodywork & paint 4 — Very Good. Clean with minimal wear; might need minor replacements for small missing or broken parts. Condition of the interior 4 — Very Good. Displays only minimal wear and can hit the road any time. Technical condition 4 — Very Good. Mechanically solid, with potential for minor servicing. Overall condition 4 — Very Good. Displays only minimal wear and can hit the road any time. This item is sold on an as-is basis. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from your own opinion. Photographs may not reflect the exact true colour or exact full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to assure themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy.
