Horus is the God of the sky and the divine protector of kings. Maat is the goddess of truth, balance order, harmony, mortality and justice. Maat represents the ethical and moral principal that every citizen was expected to follow throughout their daily life. The heart of the dead were said to be weighed against her single feather, if the heart was found to be lighter or equal in weight to the feather, the deceased had led a virtuous life and would go to afterlife. If the heart was heavier than the feather, the deceased was devoured by Goddess “Ammit”.
